Local Involvement

At Totteridge Baptist Church involvement in mission - local and overseas - is important.
Local connections logo

As a Baptist church we support the UK work of Baptist Home Mission, who are seeking to bring the love of God to communities around the country in creative and inspiring ways – as we are at Totteridge.

Our local involvement includes blessing the community with visits and gifts and running community events such as coffee mornings, shared meals, walks and indoor sports. Some of us also prayer-walk in our area.

We love being involved in the bigger picture of what God is doing across the town and believe that along with other local churches we can be ‘a church for everyone’.  This means we’re involved in events and projects with other High Wycombe churches.

On Pentecost Sunday we join with local churches for the Love Wycombe event, to worship God together and make our presence known publicly.

We support and encourage other local initiatives by prayer and financial donations and also by volunteering. Some of our church family volunteer with Wycombe Homeless Connection through the winter months and with Lighthouse children’s activity week during the summer.

We actively support Wycombe Youth for Christ in their work with children and young people in the town.

Many of us also contribute to the One Can Trust food bank as part of our weekly food shop.

Planning your Visit

Welcome

The following information is specifically for those new to us.  We hope it gives you an idea of the kind of people we are and what to expect from us when you visit.

Who are we?

We are a Baptist Church affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and we welcome anyone to come and worship with us and be part of our community.  You don't have to be a Baptist! More information on what we believe can be found on the About Us part of the site.

How to find us

Visit our Contact Us page for details.

Accessibility

Access to our site is up a steep concrete drive or up some shallow steps, and there is flat access to our main building from the car park.  There is a disabled toilet in this main building.  We don't have pews, so can easily move chairs to accommodate space for a mobility scooter or a wheelchair next to a carer.  Please let us know in advance if you need us to reserve space for disabled parking.

These are an important part of our church life.  We hold several midweek bible studies and fellowship groups. We also have two monthly prayer meetings, one in the daytime and one in the evening.  More details can be found on the Small Groups and Prayer Meeting pages
