Overseas Involvement

We maintain close links with our individual overseas partners and partner organisations, focusing on them in mission Sundays and welcoming speakers to services and events.

BMSwmAs a Baptist church we support the overseas work of BMS World Mission, including partnering with two families, one in France and one in Nepal.
We have a particular interest in the nation of Nepal and the work of BMS World Mission and their partners and of friends and contacts there. We have welcomed Nepali visitors to our church and shared services with our BMS Nepal partner family.  One of us has even had the opportunity to visit people and projects in Nepal!

Another of our overseas interests is MAF – Mission Aviation Fellowship
MAF’s vision is to take Christ’s love into the most remote places on earth. They support charities and NGOs by flying personnel, aid and equipment into places that are inaccessible by other means.  Recently they have flown vaccines and other covid needs to a number of remote places. MAF also plays a key role in supporting local church projects in hard-to-reach areas of the world.

Several of us are part of the local MAF prayer group, who would welcome others to join them.
Please contact us if you want to know more.

We learn, we pray, we give, we send and we value supporting God’s work in his world.

Planning your Visit

Welcome

The following information is specifically for those new to us.  We hope it gives you an idea of the kind of people we are and what to expect from us when you visit.

Who are we?

We are a Baptist Church affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and we welcome anyone to come and worship with us and be part of our community.  You don't have to be a Baptist! More information on what we believe can be found on the About Us part of the site.

How to find us

Visit our Contact Us page for details.

Accessibility

Access to our site is up a steep concrete drive or up some shallow steps, and there is flat access to our main building from the car park.  There is a disabled toilet in this main building.  We don't have pews, so can easily move chairs to accommodate space for a mobility scooter or a wheelchair next to a carer.  Please let us know in advance if you need us to reserve space for disabled parking.

Our activities

Sunday Services

We meet in the main church building for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am.  We extend a warm welcome to you if you want to join us.  More information about our Sunday worship, and what to expect, can be found here.

Midweek Meetings

These are an important part of our church life.  We hold several midweek bible studies and fellowship groups. We also have two monthly prayer meetings, one in the daytime and one in the evening.  More details can be found on the Small Groups and Prayer Meeting pages

We have an active social programme, posted on Facebook, now that restrictions have been lifted.
